Long-distance move from Tucson, AZ to Great Falls, MT

Unprofessional and unreliable

One of the most unprofessional and frustrating experiences I have ever had while moving. The day of delivery, they were late and didn’t call. Don’t try to call them, because they don’t answer or return calls very often. If they do answer, you get attitude.

They should have come to pick up our boxes as scheduled, and they didn’t show up the day they were scheduled. It took me calling multiple times to be told they ran out of hours for the day, and had to reschedule. The day they rescheduled for, they did not call at all. My husband and I had to call multiple times, to finally get an attitude when the phone was answered saying the crew was out and would call us soon. They have not called, the work day is now over, our boxes are still not picked up... again... and we have not gotten any call to reschedule for what would be a third time. Highly unprofessional, frustrating, and I frankly would not recommend them.

Do not use this company!

They were responsible for packing my shipment under contract from another company. My contract said furniture would be padded. Most was only shrink-wrapped, and was damaged as a result. Most boxed items were in single-weight 18 x 18 x 24 boxes from U-Haul or Home Depot. Because these were large and flimsy boxes and most were packed only 1/3 to 1/2 full, nearly all of them collapsed to some degree. Books and files were packed randomly in these large boxes, with the result that items could shift and abrade each other during transport. Some china was not wrapped at all. Heavy brass candlesticks were on top of china, with no padding or wrapping whatsoever. Three relatively large table lamps were together in one box, with no wrapping or padding to keep them from damaging each other. Boxes were not labeled with contents as I had been told they would be. Some boxes contained totally unrelated items. The inventory contained only a list of numbers, no descriptions. The shipment was to be delivered at three addresses, and it was carefully sorted and labeled at my home, where it was packed. On arrival, items were not segregated by delivery location. Because they were not segregated or labeled, boxes had to be opened during delivery to determine where they should go. This was a lot of extra work for me and for the company who delivered the shipment, and resulted in some things being delivered to the wrong address.

Long-distance move from North Dakota to California

Awesome experience.

To whom this may concern,
I am writing to say that I was extremely impressed with my entire experience with Hi-Line moving from start to finish. We got our things packed and a week later they were delivered halfway across the country. Mike was awesome, friendly, and all around easy to work with. He kept us updated at all times and was true to his word. Betty was wonderful too keeping it all coordinated. I was very nervous from other "horror" stories I had heard but Hi-Line performed above and beyond. Thank you for making our move a lot less stressful. Please keep up the great work.

Respectfully,
Abbey.

Worst moving company.

DO NOT use this moving company! They were supposed to pick up my things in June. It is now July 13th and they have changed the date and cancelled on me 4 times! I move august 1st and they plan on coming the 29th. Being over a MONTH late is ridiculous and so unprofessional. We now will be in an empty house for half the month because they have been to lazy to pick the stuff up. I will make sure to tell all military families who are thinking about using this company NOT too.

Do Not Use.

DO NOT use this company to move.  They were the absolute worst and talk about thieves!  My husband and I hired them to do a local move. The manager (Brian) quoted us 2 days; 1 day to pack and 1 day to load on the truck and drop off at the storage unit. The two gentlemen that showed up started off great, but were super slow packing. They didn't finish packing the first day so they said they'd finish on day two. They said it would only take 2 hours.  These 2 hours turned into the entire next day.  Not to mention only 1 gentlemen showed up to work on day 2 and packed for a few hours on his own.  Brian (the manager) didn't even know he was already at the house packing.  Brian had called us that morning to tell us he was short on manning and didn't have anyone to send over.  A few hours later, the high schooler's mom dropped him off at our house to "help" the other guy with the packing. Brian asked if they could come over on Saturday to finish and we agreed.  He said they would not charge us time and a half for weekend work.         On Saturday morning, no one shows up to load the truck.  We could not get a hold of anyone at the moving office 1.5 hours later.  My husband had to look Brian up on FaceBook to see what was going on. Thankfully, Brian responded to FaceBook messaging.  He said someone at his company said that I told them they didn't need to come back on Saturday and that Monday would be good. First, my husband did all the communicating with them and Second, I would have never said that b/c we needed to be out of our house on Monday and Third, we didn't have any other days off to take from work.  He sent two gentlemen over within 1 hour. These gentlemen were not expecting to pack on this day and showed up with nothing.  (We have a treadmill and they showed up without tools to take it apart.  This was noted during the walk thru with Brian.)  By this time it is already almost noon on Saturday. They loaded the truck and didn't get to the storage unit until around 5 pm! They said our stuff wouldn't fit in the storage until b/c it wasn't big enough. Brian called around to other storage units but didn't have any luck. By this time all storage locations were closed since it was a Saturday. The movers ended up putting the stuff in the storage unit and it closed just barely.  (BTW, this is the storage until Brian recommended we get.) If they had kept to the timeline as agreed, we would have been able to address this issue on a weekday during operating hours.         Overall, communication and organization within this moving company is a mess. Brian called the move "a success" simply b/c they got it all done.  I would not call it a "success": they did not meet the deadline they quoted us at and they were super slow.  They still charged us the full price especially after all this debacle. They put on a good front at the beginning, but once you sign the contract, beware of their tricks!  .

Is there a negative rating??

We had Hi-Line as our service coordinator for a military move. They outsourced everything. Hired a company to pack. Then they QUIT mid move when they could never get a truck to pick up..and we were on a military base, not in the middle of nowwhere! House sat packed for 2 weeks. Finally another company took over the contract and got a driver. But, the things were so poorly packed they had to repack! They got suspended from their DoD contract but continued to operate under other names!!

Where is my Stuff?

Do not use this company. The picked up my House Hold Goods last week and have not contacted me since. I do not know when my HHG will be delivered. They are not fulfilling their commitment to pay inconvenience claim. Worst experience I have had in 7 moves.
